Photovoltaic System at the Dane County Arena Building - part of the Alliant Energy Center (Formerly the Dane County Exposition Center), Madison, Wisconsin
In Spring 2000, 16 ASE Americas photovoltaic modules were installed at the Dane County Arena building by Great Northern Solar of Port Wing, Wisconsin.The installation was incorporated into a Midwest Renewable Energy Association Educational Institute Workshop. This PV system is in a highly visible location and served as a beacon for the 2000 MREA Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Fair held in June 2000 at the Exposition Center Complex. Madison Gas & Electric Co. owns the 4.5 kW system and the energy output is sold as part of its "green energy" program. It is among the first photovoltaic systems employed by MG&E in this role.
